Pfizer NRB Building

  • Project: Pfizer NRB Building
  • Service: Air Barrier Systems, Waterproofing
  • Location: 1743 Clarkson Rd., St. Louis, MO
  • General Contractor: Gilbane / Tarlton Joint Venture
  • Start Date: 2007
  • Detailed Scope:
Application of Tremco Air and Moisture barrier along with 2 ½ inch rigid insulation to all exterior building substrates covered with precast panels.
This also includes the flashing of all openings, penetrations, and tie ins with other envelope systems to ensure a continuous air and moisture barrier for the building envelope system.
The installation of the below grade waterproofing system to all structural concrete foundations. This particular system included a bentonite waterproofing sheet, rigid insulation for thermal protection, and drainage composite to keep the water away from the building while allowing it to drain into the base drainage pipe located at the footing.
The connection of the below grade waterproofing system to the air and moisture barrier above grade to ensure a weather prove transition between the varying systems.
  • Summary of Job Performance:
A continuous monolithic air and moisture barrier skin system preventing moisture and air infiltration into the building enclosure. The flashing detail tie-ins ensure that the air and moisture barrier is continuous and does not allow for these critical areas to be subjected to exterior elements that may jeopardize the air barrier system effectiveness.
The waterproofing of all exterior foundations walls beneath the surface grade lines provides a water tight interior to all those areas whose exterior walls are below grade and surrounded by soil.
